What You'll Find

I recommend buying watches without a doubt. If there’s one thing about India, it seems that watches are a hot commodity. Quality ranges from “Don’t even bother” to “This is actually quite good!”  Other than that, wallets, shirts and shoes can be found here as well.

Everything to Know About Gaffar Market

How to Get to The Gaffar Market

Getting around New Delhi (as with many places in India) can get a bit chaotic.

In India, you can take Uber which is what I recommend. It is the safest and easiest to get around. If you’re wanting more of the local experience, hail a tuk-tuk or tricycle. Just make sure to bargain BEFOREHAND. They will charge you 5x more just because you’re a foreigner. Be tough on your bargain as well and prepare to walk away!

Another great option to reach Gaffar Market is in Taxi and Motor Taxi. However, if you do proceed with using this medium of transportation, then make sure you know the fares and agree on the price before you ride.

Public Bus

One of the most economical ways to reach Gaffar Market is through the bus. Although buses can be a bit congested, they are still one of the most affordable types of transportation in India. There is a stop at Kikarwala Chowk – which is about a 7 minute walk away. Then also at Karol Bagh – which is about an 11 minute walk.

Tuk-Tuks

Similar to Taxi and Motor Taxi, you can easily reach Gaffar Market in a Tuk-Tuk, which is can be a thrilling experience as a traveler. But you must have some knowledge about the fare if you do not want to over-pay & definitely agree on the price before getting in.

Grab Bike

Similar to Uber or Lyft, you can use the Grab Bike app on your SmartPhone, if you have access to a stable internet connection. This is quite convenient, as they will come pick you up and take you to the market. But rather than a car, it’s a motorbike. Also, the price is more clear and less room to feel like you are getting ripped off.
