New York City is filled with some amazing bars and nightlife. But sometimes you are looking for something a bit different. If you know me, you know that I enjoy a bit of gaming.  So on a recent bargaining trip to New York City, I was able to check out some unique bars where I could play.  I love a good arcade or VR gaming bar.  I mean craft beer and vintage games make for an awesome time with friends, or even rolling solo.  Here is a list of great gaming bars you might enjoy in New York City.

Top New York City Bars with Games

It is always a great time to get out and get in some gaming at the same time.  Gaming bars make for a fun night out and is also a good way to meet people.  Some bars you can play Dungeons and Dragons and some you can even play laser tag.  There are more and more bars that are being creative in bringing games into their establishments.

VR World NYC

This is my jam.  I love VR gaming and have been playing more and more of it while traveling the world.  Honestly, I never go anywhere without my VR headset.  This bar looks amazing and can’t wait to get to NYC and give this a try.  VR World in NYC is a swanky bar with loads of VR games.  This would make for a great date night spot in NYC.

Barcade is the classic NYC bar/arcade that seems to be a growing trend around the country.  Barcade has three locations in the city (two in Manhattan and one in Williamsburg, Brooklyn). Barcade is all about classic arcade games.  The list of all the games is on their website.  Plus, they’ve got a pretty great craft beer selection.  Craft beer and video games just go perfect together.

This is a bowling alley, but with a fun twist.  This place also has a pretty sweet laser tag set up.  Also, it has an awesome arcade with some cool old school games.  So if you and some of your friends are looking for a tournament of games then Bowlmor is a great spot for that.  And, you are never too old for laser tag, just to be clear.

The Uncommons

The Uncommons is known as Manhattan’s only board game cafe.  There is a $5 cover but that gives an all-day pass and access to 750 games.  There are so many fun games here!  If you think you’re a Magic expert, then this is where you want to put your skills to the test.

Two-Bit’s Retro Arcade

Two Bit’s Retro Arcade, located on the lower east side is what it sounds like – a retro arcade!  How sweet is that?  It’s got a projector screen playing old school movies and shows.  It also has 22 rotating games and some pretty cool drink specials.  If you’re a serious video gamer, this bar has some of the rarest games you can find.  Bring your A-game here and see how your gaming skills hold up.

Full Circle Bar

It all comes back around at Full Circle Bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  Skeeball and brews is what goes on here.  They even have a brewskee-ball league.  Yes the same old school skee ball you would find in an arcade or carnival.  This place looks awesome and one that I will have to check out on my next trip to NYC.

The Fat Cat

Do you dominate in bar games?  This Greenwich Village hangout is the spot you want to check out. The Fat Cat is a basement bar and pool hall with ping pong, foosball, shuffleboard, and some other fun games.  Local music, good beer, and good vibes are what this place is all about.
