If you are looking for top party destinations in the world, then you will likely find yourself hopping around Southeast Asia. Not only am I looking for exciting markets to score deals while I travel but I’m also looking to have a great time in a fun place with an adult beverage.  While I’ve enjoyed myself at many of these party destinations already, others will have to wait for a future trip.  Anyway, check out my list of some of the hottest top party destinations in Asia.

Top Party Destinations in SE Asia That You Need to See to Believe

These places are in no particular order, but I do have my favorites for sure. Southeast Asia is filled with some fun party spots.  One of the most popular countries for travelers is Thailand, so you’ll see a few Thailand destinations on this list.  I love spending time in Thailand and especially at the MBK Market in Bangkok, but there are some less populated cities that can throw it down too.

Phuket, Thailand

Phuket is probably one of the most popular party destinations in Southeast Asia for anyone looking to party. The center of the nightlife in Phuket is without a doubt the famous Patong Beach, lined with various bars of different kinds. Phuket attracts a variety of tourists for the cheap booze and loud tunes. While you’ll find tourists in the area from all different backgrounds, the Patong area can attract a more sleazy kind of crowd, which might not be everyone’s vibe.

Langkawi, Malaysia

When you think about Malaysia, probably the first city that comes to mind is Kuala Lumpur. However, if you are looking for a proper party night in the country, you should consider getting to this little island of Langkawi. For as quiet as it might seem during the day, nights in Langkawi can get very crazy.

Start your evenings at one of the bars on Pantai Cenang Beach and work your way through the night by heading to one of the numerous nightclubs. How great would it be to live like this every day in paradise!

Koh Rong Island, Cambodia

With so many backpackers preferring Sihanoukville, you might be wondering why should you even consider Koh Rong Island as your party destination. The reality is that if you want to take advantage of cheap booze and an amazing atmosphere, all enclosed in a beautiful environment Koh Rong is the place to go. Its chilled vibes make it attractive to everybody looking to escape from more “commercial” destinations.

Vang Vieng, Laos

Laos is another popular place for backpackers and has become a staple in many SE Asia travel bucket lists. When in Laos, a stop in Vang Vieng is a must, especially if you like to party and have some adventure too. In Vang Vieng, the thing to do is tubing down the river, but this is tubing with a twist. This seemingly chill activity has become notorious in SE Asia for dangerous and reckless partying due to the bars that line the river, and also the sketchy swings and such that go over the river.  It’s a wild experience for sure. If you get to experience this, my advice is to be careful about how much you drink to avoid disasters. For sure, you don’t want to forget this adventure…but you also want to live to tell the stories.

Also, because Vang Vieng is more out of the way and less popular in South East Asia, you’ll be able to find a relatively untouched piece of paradise.

Koh Phi Phi, Thailand

This small island in Thailand is full of surprises. Koh Phi Phi can be extremely peaceful during the day but at night the whole island transforms with the entire strip of beach lighting up with nightclubs, bars (including the famous “bucket stands) as well as fire shows. If you are one who likes to party until the morning, keep in mind that on Koh Phi Phi, the party stops relatively early: by 2 AM all music on the beach stops. This island is an exciting stop for anyone looking for a place where you can laze your day away on beautiful beaches, then party hard during the night.

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

Another great party destination in Southeast Asia is undoubtedly Ho Chi Minh City. Go to Pham Ngu Lao in the evening and share some cheap beers with the locals, ex-pats, or other travelers at one of the numerous cafes on the street. Then, work your way through the night at one of the many nightclubs of the city.

Ho Chi Minh City is also home to the Ben Thanh Market, one of my favorite bargaining markets in the world.

Boracay, Philippines

Partying on the beach is a pretty iconic experience. And Borocay, in the Philippines, offers you one of the best ways to enjoy yourself on the beach. However, the downside is that Boracay is one of the country’s most famous island destinations, which makes it overly touristy. On this island, you’ll find some proper nightclubs as well as partying with the locals.

Gili Trawangan, Indonesia

Gili Trawangan is one of the few places in the world where you can enjoy a silent disco party. It is also notorious for its mushrooms. But despite what you might be expecting from Gili T., the reality is that it is an island with plenty of luxury resorts, fancy bars, and nice clubs, not to mention the beautiful beaches. The atmosphere is pretty chilled, with all the party and much of the tourism being centered around a specific corner of the island. This allows you to take a break from the party at night and enjoy the incredible night sky.

Kuta, Bali

For how heavenly as Bali might sound, in Kuta, you’ll find one of the best party atmospheres in the world. The perpetual party on this island is suitable for different tastes and starts as early as at dusk. After getting a good view of the beautiful sunsets the island has to offer you, you can start visiting some bars and pubs.

Later in the night, you can pick a club. The good news is that the choice of clubs in Kuta is pretty large. You’ll find dance and electro clubs, but also more laid back pubs and even jazz clubs if that’s your thing. No matter your taste, in Kuta you’ll for sure find something that suits your interests.

Koh Phangan, Thailand

Koh Phangan is famous for its Full Moon Party. Thousands of travelers each month come to the island to enjoy a night full of music, neon lights, and dancing. However, you shouldn’t visit Koh Phangan only for this rather commercialized party! The island is a rather chilled out place overall.  You’ll be able to spend all your days at the beach lounging around in iconic Thailand beauty, then turn it up with some crazy night parties. Regardless of the Full Moon, there is always something going on in Koh Phangan. On top of that, the scenery is so beautiful you’ll never want to leave this little paradise.

Sihanoukville, Cambodia

Sihanoukville is one of the most popular party destinations in Cambodia: drinks are extremely cheap and tunes can get very loud. On top of that, you can party on beautiful beaches such as Serendipity and Occheuteal, where you can sip on your drink with stunning scenery of the sea.
